Be prepared for some fine prog- and powermetal tunes performed by some great experienced musicians.
Those who saw The Phoenix Project last May (that time with Marcel Coenen) know what I mean.

MARTYR
was formed in 1982 and debuted with the very interesting For The Future in 1985, mixing technical riffing with a pre-thrash base. Certainly an atypical sound for a Dutch band (or for that matter any metal band at that time), the album won a decent amount of critical and fan approval. Their second album, Darkness At Times End, was released a year later, but the lack of promotion, coupled with the band's inability to find a large audience for their unconvential style, spelled the end of the band, the group breaking up in 1987. The guys got together for a reunion show in October of 2001, and buoyed by its success, did some more reunion shows in 2005 and is presently active, they even delivered the well received "Circle of 8"album lately on Metal Blade Records. Last month the band did a special 30th Anniversary gig at Tivoli Utrecht with a lot of guestbands/musicians.

POWERIZED
This band from the Breda area in The Netherlands just lately changed their name into Powerized. A few months ago they where still called YOUR SOUL PLEASE and during that period (half June 2012) they ended as second best band of the international Emergenza band contest! Expect a young energetic band with influences from bands like Edguy, Iron Maiden, Avantasia. The fact that they ended up as 2nd of the Emergenza contest says enough otherwise check out their YouTube clips of this battle! Just some days ago (22 September 2012) the band played the 6th edition of Mario's Metal Meeting and everybody had the same opinion; this band is gonna be big and is blessed with a very young singer who can be named as one of the best Dutch singers already If you missed them last week; here's a new chance to see these youngsters....
