Ik waardeer de reacties ENORUM, aangezien ik de afgelopen 3 jaar stil heb gestaan. Ik geloof dat Ondskapt - Dodens Evangelium het laatste is geweest wat ik heb aangeschaft. Maar dat is nu juist wel het killer album met zo tering veel gif en power wat echt die middelmaat wegbeukt. Ben echt opzoek naar een Strength & Honour, Terror Propaganda, Dead as dreams, Apokalypsens Ängel,Si Monumentum Requires, Onori Funebri Rituali,Only True Believers. Echt albums die ik over 10 of 20 jaar nog steeds draai met max volume. Maargoed laat ik niet in herhaling vallen en op zoek naar naar die future classic plaat!

Jullie aangedragen bands:

Krohm - A world trough dead eyes: Was al bekend met dit album en snap niet dat mensen dit kunnen doorstaan, die saaiheid. Echt het voelt net zo vervelend als filerijden.
Coldworld - Melancholie: ja en deze gast heeft het dan weer wel begrepen, gewoon die klote synthesizer uit de kast halen en doe maar spelen. Moet hier nog wat meer induiken, maar die soundtrack style bevalt me wel.
Farsot - IIII: ja is wel redelijk cool, maar misschien mist het net dat giftige
Glorior "Get in my" Belli - Manifesting the raging beast: Ja hier was ik al een paar maandjes bekend mee en dat is nu precies dat gitaar geluid waar we naar opzoek zijn he. Heerlijk album, maar weer lang niet zo goed als Watain bijv. Tenminste, het maakt niet dezelfde heftige emoties los.
häive - mieli maassa: Dit hoor je zelden, zulke bombastische mid-tempo. Beetje chillout Black Metal, nieuw genre haha? Klinkt niet verkeerd.
iskald -.- revelations of reckoning day (2008) : Te happy, voor vanavond.
krypt - 2008 - preludes to death: Ja dit heeft pit iig. Beuken, en UGH! Like it a lo(t).
Negative Plane - Et In Saecula Saeculorum GEWELDIG! Eerste band van de avond die kippenvel brengt. Maar dit is ECHT geniaal man, instant fan haha. Big up voor de gast die deze aangedragen heeft.
Nyktalgia - peisithanatos JAAA!!! Vieze gitaren a la Tenebrae in Perpetuum! Wederom een toppertje!
the ruins of beverast - rain upon the impure Ja klinkt best wel cool hoor, vooral als ze los gaan, in combo met dat echoende geluid. Toch snap ik niet helemaal dat dit een van de hypes van de laatste jaren is. Vind het niet echt super mede omdat die kerksfeer en dat getreuzel met die sfeermuziek eromheen heen me absoluut niet aantrekt. Het heeft zeker zn originaliteit, maar vond hun vorige full lenght ook al niet pakkend, ik zal wel de enige BM' er zijn die dat vind.

Over Slidhr gesproken...heb je hun split met Rebirth Of Nefast inmiddels al gehoord? Ik ben daar heel erg benieuwd naar, vooral naar het werk van RoN. Only Death was fantastisch. Als die lui vooruit zijn gegaan, dan moet het wel een klapper van jewelste worden. Overigens vind ik Slidhr zelf ook niet onaardig, dus enige vooruitgang daar zou ook zeer welkom zijn.

Ik heb vanavond het album van Kaosritual gehoord, Svøpt Morgenrød. Wat een fantastisch stuk black zeg! Noors, maar toch ook heel anders. Er komt een geweldige muur van geluid op je af, als je hem voor het eerst aanzet. Beetje S.V.E.S.T.-achtig, qua ervaring, al is het geluid heel anders. Rauw, ruizig, hard, tikkeltje ritualistisch, afwisselend, vol enthousiasme en agressie en meer van die dingen.

Lekker gevarieerd, alles zit er in? Melodie, agressie en typisch Duits vuur. Prima plaat weer, al vind ik Reinigende Feuer nog steeds net wat beter.

Zelf draai ik Walknut. Graveforests and Their Shadows is toch wel de black metal plaat die ik hier het meeste draai de laatste tijd. Veruit de beste release op Stellar Winter, dat toch meestal vrij brakke nsbm bandjes uitbracht (al zijn Forest, Svarga, Branikald en nog een aantal andere nog steeds best okay)

Ik blijf erbij dat Where the Snows are Never Gone.. nog altijd het gaafst blijft. De ultraranzige zang en vooral dat lekker rammelende drumgeluid vormen een ware traktatie. Uiteraard zijn er ook nog wat kille riffs te vinden. Gaaf kazig intro ook

. Maar weer eens draaien, al weer een tijdje terug.

Wellicht ook een tip om Walknut eens te checken. Misschien een tikje te atmosferisch, gezien de andere bands die je luistert, maar zeker uiterst genietbaar. Goed geluid ook.

Overigens, is Grand Belial's Key nou weer helemaal actief, ondanks het overlijden van die Grimnir dude? Las ik op MA in ieder geval. Dan maar hopen dat ze die zanger (die dikke Black Lourde) van de eerste twee albums maar weer terughalen. Die had een vuige strot, net wat beter dan Grimnir op Kosherat.

Daar kan ik om eerlijk te zijn ook steeds minder mee. Op de laatste cd gingen me de fluit en die clean zang behoorlijk tegenstaan.

Maar wat vind je van Walknut? Toch best te doen heh. Meer agressie dan Drudkh en afwisselender dan een Hate Forest. Daarnaast is de massieve sound ook wel een pluspunt.

Top sound inderdaad... Geweldig album.

Over Temnozor gesproken; het nieuwe album komt als het goed is dit jaar nog uit. "Horizons..." is één van mijn favoriete, en meest gedraaide, albums uit mijn collectie. Staat toevallig nu ook op.

Tijd om weer even 2 bands aan te stippen die op grove wijze over het hoofd worden gezien:

Animus mortis
Een black metal band uit Chili. Je zou het niet verwachten maar deze band weet de gitzwarte kern waar black metal om draait gevaarlijk dicht te benaderen. Muzikaal doet het denken aan In the nightside eclipse van Emperor en het rauwere werk van Lunar aurora met het vernijn van een Endstille. Opvallend is dat men nauwelijks gebruik maakt van keyboards (eigenlijk alleen in de ambient intermezzo's) maar wel enorm veel sfeer weet op te wekken.

En de naam van die band deed me dan weer denken aan een album uit 2007.

Locus mortis
Een Italiaanse band die vorig jaar dus met het album Voust kwam. Wat mij betreft een van de beste black metal albums van vorig jaar terwijl ik er maar weinig mensen over hoor. Locus mortis bedient zich van een verwrongen, dissonant geluid dat in de verte wat doet denken aan Deathspell omega of Watain. Deze wervelwind van gitaargeweld wordt kracht bij gezet door bijna onaflatende blast-salvo's. En toch vervalt men nooit in chaos omdat deze Italianen perfect weten hoe men met melodie om moet gaan.

Die Chilenen klinken behoorlijk goed ja! Dat Italiaanse combo vind ikzelf wat minder.

Leuke tips, ik ben nieuw hier, dus ik weet niet of dit vaker komt, maar van mij mag het.

Ga maar eens uitgebreid naar Elysion luisteren. Een beul van een album.

Ik heb nu nog maar weer eens Farsot - IIII opstaan en dat is eigenlijk toch wel een bijna perfect album. De productie is werkelijk geweldig: luid, duidelijk, en met een scherp randje. Maar het zijn natuurlijk vooral de bijzonder gevarieerde nummers die dit tot zo'n topalbum maken. Farsot klinkt tegelijkertijd agressief, dreigend en beklemmend. Hoe vaker ik dit album draai, hoe meer ik ervan onder de indruk raak.

Echt een topplaat, vooral het laatste bijna 30 minuten durende nummer is echt geweldig. Ben benieuwd hoe de volgende plaat zal zijn, als die er komt.
