In Solitude [heavy metal]
In Solitude [heavy metal]
Bio:
In 2002, under an Uppsala Moon, the spirits of ancient evil and old metal are summoned and celebrated. The cloaks of Swedes Niklas Lindstrom (guitar), Uno Bruniusson (drums), Gottfrid Ahman (bass) and Henrik Helenius (guitar / vocals) rose within a circle of fire and gave birth to the band IN SOLITUDE. Tones of below and voices from the deep beyond enlightened the eve. At dawn a new entity will have arisen although a year would pass before it would ride out…
Enter 2003, a feared and forceful enigma would soon be drawn to this flame; Hornper (vocals) had arrived. By the dark light of the morning star, the five bad points of IN SOLITUDE, who hail from Uppsala Sweden (the same town as Watain & Invidious) cast their first shadows. In 2004, IN SOLITUDE released the band’s first self-titled demo, filled with the incipient verses and music from the new beast. Copies soon dissipate into smoke.
In 2005 guitarist/vocalist Henrik Heleius strays off the burning path. The silhouette of another takes form and Mattias Gustafsson is conjured to enrich the sonic spells of these children of the night. In 2006 the band released the second demo Hidden Dangers, which breathes the night air briefly as it too, quickly dissipates into the aura of the European metal nightscape.
In 2008, Sweden’s S.M.P. Records released the EP Hidden Dangers as a 7” which quickly sold out. Under this same cycle, the band unleashes their nameless 8 song, full-length debut in the form of a CD on Pure Steel Records and cast in wax on High Roller Records. Captured at Burlesco Studios, the same as the demos, this now famous debut was produced by Hasse Bruniusson. The heat of the album spread throughout the land as both versions rapidly saw represses.
Heeding to a growing following, especially in Germany and their home country of Sweden, IN SOLITUDE embarked on a handful of European tours. Touted festivals also witnessed this glorious new beast, namely Keep It True, Up the Hammers, Pounding Metal, Metal Magic and Hell’s Pleasures festivals. Amidst these heighted tiers however, another member grievingly falls, and by the end of 2009 Mattias Gustafsson returned to the mist wherein he came.
2010 saw IN SOLITUDE signing a worldwide deal with Metal Blade Records. This is also the year that Henrik Psalm, vocalist and guitarist for the heavy punkers Sonic Ritual, passes the trials by fire and thus a new fury rises within the horde. Guitarist Henrik Psalm comments; “Soon it will be winter and I am very happy to be a part of the snowstorm of broken glass that is IN SOLITUDE. I’ve got a good feeling that we will pierce quite a few hearts. There will be some blood in the snow. My blood. Everyone’s blood. Ideas are growing into actions. More blood in the snow. It’s great. Passion. Fire. I love these guys. We are really doing something that will make motion. It’s in the air around us right now. We love each other and we love that fire that moves us. It’s something not of this world and I am one of the instruments that makes this happen, and that’s a beautiful thing.” The cultivation of a new sound nears perfection; one that bears the dynamic powers of youth and the embittered wisdom of the ages.
The week of November 15th, the horde entered Nicke Anderson's (HELLACOPTERS) brand new studio Gutterview Recorders in Stockholm, Sweden with producer Fred Estby (DISMEMBER, DEATH BREATH) to record the band’s sophomore record, which will see release in the spring of 2011.
Follow the Owl. Follow your own burning blood into the night!

Re: In Solitude [heavy metal]
The World, The Flesh, The Devil vind ik een onderhoudend album.

Re: In Solitude [heavy metal]
Smaken verschillen
Hier nog een mooie recensie van The World, The Flesh, The Devil:
'' In Solitude's second full-length, 2011's cryptically named The World. The Flesh. The Devil, vastly improves upon their first effort, and quickly elevates the Swedish quintet's retro-metal credentials by simultaneously showing convincing sonic authenticity and giving fresh legs to the heavy metal genre's coming of age period of the early '80s. In a nutshell: the band's sound is largely based on classic Mercyful Fate and the galloping, gothic representatives of the New Wave of British Heavy Metal (Iron Maiden, Blitzkrieg, Cloven Hoof, etc.), then bolstered by new millennium recording standards and a strong songwriting imagination that helps the title track, "We Were Never Here," "Demons," and others easily transcend the mere rehashing of old worn-out ideas. Added versatility is also shown on "Serpents Are Rising," where emphatic melodies recall vintage Praying Mantis, on "Dance of the Adversary," which descends into a beguiling occult/acoustic coda, and on the clearly self-imposed trial by fire of the 14-minute "On Burning Paths," which hangs tough for the duration marked by tribal drum sections, bass showcases, etc. (In fact, most of the other songs here don't feel as long as their average six-plus minutes -- a credit to In Solitude's energy and song smarts.) And, all the while, vocalist Pelle Åhman wisely emulates King Diamond's haunted histrionic wails but not his teeth-grating falsettos, also resorting at times to a more restrained, NWOBHM-inspired deadpan amid scattered growled mutterings that give In Solitude one of their only remotely modern qualities. But, at the end of the day, that absent modernity feels utterly beside the point here, because In Solitude have immersed themselves so innately under their heroes' skins that it feels like their own. ~ Eduardo Rivadavia, Rovi ''

Re: In Solitude [heavy metal]
And if you're not down with that, we've got two words for ya...
Re: In Solitude [heavy metal]
The World. The Flesh.
Re: In Solitude [heavy metal]

Re: In Solitude [heavy metal]
Re: In Solitude [heavy metal]
Leuke, vermakelijke plaat.

Re: In Solitude [heavy metal]

Re: In Solitude [heavy metal]
