NAAM (usa) + Swamp Machine 18 Mei 2013

Bericht door DeBastille » di mei 07, 2013 12:43 am

Oh, yeah!!!

Support: Swamp Machine!

"Formed in Brooklyn, Ny in early 2009 by John Bundy and Ryan Lugar. Naam later found percussionist Eli Pizzuto and released their first self- released ep "Kingdom." Many people took notice and Naam was quickly signed to the renowned Tee Pee Records. In October of 2009 Naam released their debut s/t LP "Naam" via Tee Pee and proceeded to do national support tours for acts like Nebula, Orange Goblin, Radio Moscow and The Entrance Band. In 2011 Naam embarked on their first European tour providing support to The Atomic Bitchwax and playing the Roadburn Festival.

Later in 2011 they released a limited edition Nirvana Covers 7" record as they continued to tour at home and abroad. May of 2012 saw the release of the much anticipated "Starchild" ep followed by a headlining european tour.

Naam are currently working on their latest effort, the second full length LP to be released in the spring of 2013 with Tee Pee records followed by a massive world tour."

-------------------------------------------------

“We loves us some far-out space jams at Blurt and those epic, blissful nuggetoids just happen to be Naam’s forte.” - BLURT

“The Starchild” sounds like an acid trip: not a freak-out, but rather a long jam with squalling guitars, quavering organ fills and distant-sounding vocals…like it was inspired by a buffet of peyote buttons and magic mushrooms.” – CAMPUS CIRCLE

“bottom-heavy dark-boogie” - TIME OUT NEW YORK

“Virtuosic bass crunge, ripped jeans, long hair, extended krautrock blissouts…Yes!” - ROLLING STONE

“Whatever the level of high, the heavy psychedelic trio drift regularly into echoed and sometimes Crimsoned-out excursions without losing momentum or their excellent vintage stoner doom groove.” - STEREOGUM

“NAAM take the trippiest part of your favorite Hawkwind song and stretch it like space-taffy into hypnotic, riff-driven mush…a sucking black hole of reverb and space dust” – VILLAGE VOICE

“Having already established themselves as heavyweight psych-rock contenders, Brooklyn’s Naam are about to release their new EP “The Ballad of the Starchild” with an ambitious scope that further enhances their claim to the “Psych-est Band in NYC” title.” – THE DELI NYC

Swamp Machine:
