http://vibrationsofdoom.com/test/Torture.html

"Torture - Storm Alert (Escapi Music) Review By: Matt Coe
During the 1980s thrash explosion there were a number of bands outside the confines of the hotbed scenes of the Bay Area, New York, and Germany that for one reason or another never made it beyond the independent demo slugging circuit. Some acts even made inroads into the self-financed album operation, yet would break up before ever releasing their efforts in mass quantity. Torture would be one of these acts; originally hailing from Texas during the 1980s, but now residing in the San Francisco area. Reforming 16 years after their final recording, “Storm Alert” finally sees proper packaging and label support from Sweden’s Escapi Music. Remaining in the original recording lineup would be
vocalist/guitarist Tom Hicks and bassist Deric Gunter, supplemented these days by rhythm guitarist Nick Nielsen and drummer Justin Dudra. “Storm Alert” runs the gamut in the thrash genre - pulling in influences mostly from across the seas a la Sacrifice (the 10:58 epic “Dwell Into Surreality”) or the precision sharp riff attack of say Artillery (“Blood Portraits” being the best sample). Vocalist Tom Hicks has a screaming/talk approach to his lyrical delivery; the easiest comparison I could give would be a more palatable Schmier from Destruction or Pat Ranieri of Hellwitch. The drumming also contains plenty of variety and versatility, as not all the songs stay locked into mach 5 warp speed level, especially when the quieter, more musical parts call for understated drum movements. I can see Torture appealing to the deep follower of the thrash movement more so than the casual listener who believes thrash began and ended with the “Big 4”. Expect to take some time with the arrangements and riffing on this disc as 5 of the 11 tracks clock in at 6 minutes or longer, but I believe the effort undertaken will be well worth the discovery. Kudos to the band, welcome back to the metal movement and may you re-indoctrinate the masses to the ways of your raw, savage filled message. www.escapimusic.com | www.tortureband.com "

8 hits cadeau.

Hohoho...
