Crucified Barbara’s story started in the suburbs of Stockholm back in early 1995. They met at a party a few years later and this was at a time when the grunge music was at its peak. Four young girls got together and they found each other straight away. They were in a common phase of life, brought together by the same lust to wildness.Nicki had the rhythm in her body since childhood and had been the drummer in a hardcore band. Mia and Ida had already been playing together. Their meeting became magic as they realised they fitted so well together, both musically and in their way of life. They all had a common strong willpower to create music which was breathing attitude and self-confidence! Earlier they had all played with different bands, with whom they had developed through the years – from the first small gigs at the local schools until todays date! But that’s not always enough as a common denominator. More interesting today is that Crucified Barbara have found their own musical identity. Power and courage has accompanied these driven girls from the curiosity of the youth until today, with expression of anger and passion as their strong force of power. This is not only about four girls who managed to land a record deal but also about four girls whose biggest dream is to rock the heart out of the audience with charm and intelligence. Crucified Barbara want to find a way into peoples ‘partyhearts’!
Excellent reviews followed the release of Crucified Barbara’s debut album “In Distortion We Trust” early 2005, and the girls headed for some successful touring both supporting bigger acts and on their own.
The video for their debut single ‘Losing the Game’ (which was also a Top 10 single in the Swedish charts) has been frequently shown on TV stations around the world and the single has been spinning on radio stations worldwide for quite some time now.
Their second video (made and directed by the girls themselves!) and single ‘Rock’n’Roll Bachelor’ ,released in June 2005, got the same fantastic reaction as the previous single.
A third video and single, ‘Play Me Hard’, is currently being worked on and will see the light of day early December.
