:: CRIMSON FALLS enters the studio ::

Afbeelding

CRIMSON FALLS will enter the CCR Studio (Aborted, In-Quest, Liar, Lengtche, Morda…) in Zulte this Sunday (11.06.2006) to start the recordings of their first full cd. The recording sessions for the music will take place in June, after which the vocals will be recorded in the Sweet & Sour Studio in Ede, Holland in July. Mixing and mastering will be done in CCR as well. No need to say CRIMSON FALLS is very much looking forward to this experience. The follow-up to last years debut mcd ‘Ruins 2K5’ will show CRIMSON FALLS taking it to the next level, with a furious and energetic blend of death metal, metalcore and thrash metal.

The new album, tentatively titled “The True Face Of Human Nature” will be released through the reborn Shiver Records label. The release is scheduled for the beginning of October. The releaseshow will take place on the 6th of October in JH Bogaard, Geel. Further details such as the tracklist, artwork, teaser mp3’s and the releaseshow line-up will be revealed within the next weeks and months. After this release CRIMSON FALLS will play a lot of shows in October, November & December to promote the new album, so bookers and organizers can get in touch now!

Time for an other studio update!

We’re in the final process of completing our new full cd ‘The True Face Of Human Nature’. Everything is recorded; now we’re waiting for the final mix and mastering by the end of august. The new cd will feature guest appearances by Sven (Aborted) on ‘Controle Alt Delete’ and XCaroX (No Recess) on ‘Martyr vs. Terrorist’. They both did an awesome job! The complete tracklist for the new album will look like this:

Crimson Falls - The True Face Of Human Nature:

1. Abort Every Weakness… (instrumental)
2. …Erase All Fear
3. Architecture Disavowed
4. Controle Alt Delete
5. Prelude To The Cataclysm (instrumental)
6. Four Slaves, Four Struggles
7. Martyr vs. Terrorist
8. Poetry For The Scum
9. In Flanders Fields
10. We Are The Dead
11. Book Of Memories (re-recorded)
12. The True Face Of Human Nature

The cd’s should be ready for our releaseshow on the 6th of October. We hope to see you all then in JH De Bogaard in Geel to rock with the following bands:

The front cover for the new cd:

Like for our debut mcd 'Ruins 2K5', the artwork is again designed by Svencho. So, I guess this is one of the first Avernus Studios designs to come out; we think the artwork looks awesome!

In the booklet, a small comment/explanation will be added to every song, giving a deeper insight on the content.

Don't forget to check the new song!

:: SECOND NEW SONG ONLINE: CONTROLE ALT DELETE ::

Afbeelding

We are very close now to the official release date of our new album 'The True Face Of Human Nature'! The 1st of December 2006 is the shop date, so just a few more days to go! To celebrate this we decided to put a second song online! So get your ass over to:

http://www.myspace.com/crimsonfalls

and listen to ‘CONTROLE ALT DELETE', one of the heaviest and brutal tracks on the new cd! This is also the song Sven (Aborted) gave us a hand on! Our myspace got pimped recently by Mister Olli Spitfire, so there’s another reason to have a look at it!

So, from 01.12.2006 on you should be able to find the new cd in a shop near you. Certainly:

* the Metalzone shops (Vosselaar, Baal, Leuven, Luik, Gent, Brugge, Tiel (Hol) & Nijverdal (Hol) ) will have it in store (http://www.lsp-company.com/).
* You can also order through the deathmetal.be distro (http://distro.deathmetal.be/)
* the RTTC webshop (http://www.rottentothecore.be/)
* and of course from us at our shows or by sending us a mail (crimsonfalls@hotmail.com)!

Enkele Nederlandse reviews:

AARDSCHOK (Hardrock & Heavy Metal Magazine, Holland)

(Rudi Engel)

Score: 82/100

ASICE.NET (Hardcore/Metalcore webzine, Holland)

After I reviewed their debut about a year ago, I was curious how Crimson Falls would develop. Well, I didn’t have to wait long for an answer to that question, because “The True Face Of Human Nature” is already here! After the intro you’ll remember what Crimson Falls was all about right away: full blown metal. Or more specifically: melodic death metal, metalcore and thrash metal. All of these elements combined resulted in this album. The people at the CCR Studio made sure that the technical skills of the musicians came out right in the production and mix, so no worries there. Even though the music is aggressive as hell, the lyrics show the social and cultural awareness of the band. Liner notes accompany every song to explain the deeper meaning behind it all and it really gives you insight into the collective mindset of Crimson Falls. If it’s possible, I would say that “The True Face Of Human Nature” is even more metal than “Ruins 2K5”, but that’s also up to you to decide. Check it out if you like some metal every now and then. (David)

LORDS OF METAL (Metal E-Zine, Holland)

(Jordy)

:: REVIEWS ::

Meanwhile our debut full length is getting awesome reviews.:

ROCK TRIBUNE (Metal Magazine, Belgium)

(Steven Demey)

Score: 90/100

METAL TEAM UK (Metal E-Zine, UK)

Man, this is a totally engrossing hardcore infused molten slab of Belgian deathened metal. Of course, when anyone speaks about Belgian metal, chances are that sooner or later they’re going to mention Aborted, who are certainly the most famous Flemish metal export. It seems as though finally, Sven and co. have an outfit that can rival them in terms of sheer intensity and drop-jaw heaviness. The comparison isn’t without reason either – though this is a far less Carcass influenced record, and more a reflection of the modern ultra-polished yet still undeniably polished death metal in the Polish vein, it does feature Sven on “Controle Alt Delete”.
In purely aesthetic terms, the CD inlay really does require first mention. This is a plush, slickly professional booklet, complete with full colour photos of the band and full lyrics. More than that though, in a style similar to a personal favourite of mine, Vaders De Profundis, the band write their thoughts on the meaning of the lyrics and what influenced them to write the songs. This might conceivably be a distraction for the music purists among you, but personally I find that the extra insight it provides into the tracks adds an extra dimension to the dizzying, brutal sound.
The music is ultra tight, catchy without being any less heavy, and possesses an awesome bottom end. This is death metal, no doubt, but with an undeniable hardcore influence. There are slow breakdowns and tangential riffing to compete with the screaming guitars and typically extreme vocals, and yet you’re never left with the impression that these are anything other than subtle influences, which suits an avowed –core phobic like me fine! Sigi Loots has a fine grasp of death metal drumming, Ringo and Kristen alternate between muscular riffing and spiralling, acute tones, while Maarten provides a powerful bass line that impels proceedings much like belt-fed mortar fire. Wim has a hoarse, coarse vocal attack that alternates between a scream and guttural bellowing. Lyrically, the band veer from the gore and splatter of their peers, tending towards messages of positivity and freedom from technical devices, to particularly thoughtful treatments of the first world war. Stirring stuff, to be sure, and much better than a band that has seemingly come from nowhere has any right to be. Are they destined for the big time? In terms of musical merit, with a little tightening of the song writing, they surely deserve to have a much higher profile. A band to look out for. (Chris Davison)

THE METAL FORGE (Metal E-Zine, Australia)

I think my ears are still bleeding. Belgium’s Crimson Falls are the kind of metalcore / death metal band that I like; the type that actually don’t use a lot of metalcore at all. Their sound is like an ugly cross between the calculated rhythms of Fear Factory, the sonic chaos of Dillinger Escape Plan and the general brutality of any number of death metal bands. In fact, it is quite unfair to label the band as metalcore as many have done. I was aware of this label well before I actually heard this and was instantly sceptical of what I was about to hear. Put simply, The True Face of Human Nature gave my ears a pounding like they hadn’t had for some time. Aside from a couple of songs that stray, the entire album is an example of pure musical heaviness. It is cold, dark and brutal. There are no two ways about it; this is not metalcore, deathcore or any other kind of core. At least not in any way you have heard it before. There is much to like about this album including an assortment of interesting time signatures, frenetic riffing, blistering drums and one of the best vocal performances I have heard in some time. Vocalist Wim has an amazing vocal range that can stretch from a guttural, death metal growl to a bowel shaking scream. Backing up all of this chaotic instrumentation are extremely strong compositions that twist and turn and never let up or seem to get boring, with perhaps the only exception being In Flanders Fields which consists of generally soft guitars with pounding drums and a monologue of a Poem by Major John McCrae which was written during World War I in 1915 about the first battle of Ypres and the death of his friend Lieutenant Helmer. Overall I was extremely impressed and surprised by Crimson Falls’ first full length release. The band has a maturity that others can only dream of and they have achieved it within their relatively short three or four years of existence. They have set a very high benchmark for their follow up release and I can’t wait to hear what they have in store for us. (Michael O'Brien)

Score: 4/5

VAMPIRE MAGAZINE (Metal E-Zine, Holland)

In my previous review on Crimson Falls I was quite astonished about the quality and maturity of their last effort, entitled “Ruins 2K5”. I also predicted the next release would be a real killer and it seems like our Belgian friends have delivered the goods on their first full length, called “The True Face Of Human Nature”... Just after hearing the first few seconds you simply know that you are listening to a very mature and solid debut album. Crimson Falls stands for high quality deathcore which shines through in masterfully crafted compositions like “Erase All Fear”, “Controle Alt Delete”, “Martyr vs Terrorist”, “Poetry For The Scum”, “We Are The Dead” and “Book Of Memories”. Every track is a true rollercoaster of dynamics, heavy grooves and cunningly placed breaks which should make even the most demanding listener drool of sheer pleasure. The music reminds at times of fellow countrymen In-Quest, however the hardcore roots of Crimson Falls make the difference here. “The True Face Of Human Nature” has tons of dynamics and variation to offer, which, in combination with the aforementioned clever compositions, makes it a very enjoyable listening experience. The production is simply flawless, making the album a true killer. What can I say? Crimson Falls have delivered a very mature and impresse debute album, worthy of your respect and admiration. Well done, gentlemen! (Raymond Westland)

Allright,

last quarter of the year; new shows coming up; time for an update!

:: THANK YOU ::

First of all thank you very much to everyone coming out and supporting CRIMSON FALLS on our summer shows! We had blast playing at fests such as Graspop Metal Meeting, Akkerpop, Gentse Feesten and Flanders Fields Of Death Fest @ Biebob! It was awesome to see you going crazy and mosh it up together with us! You can find clips of all these shows on You Tube, check the links below!

:: PLANS ::

So, what’s up next for CRIMSON FALLS? First of all: more live mayhem! During the last 4 months of 2007 we’ll be playing a whole series of shows, so come and check us out when we hit town near you. We’ve got 3 weekend-tours scheduled with Revenance (UK), A Traitor Like Judas (GER) and Lies Behind The Smile (GER). All three of them are awesome bands so make sure you check them out if you haven’t already!

After these four months we’ll be cutting down the number of shows again so we can focus on writing new songs for our next cd. This doesn’t mean we won’t be playing anymore, you know we can’t miss you, but it will be less frequent. Meanwhile we’ve already finished two new songs, so if you’re in for some new CRIMSON FALLS shizzle, you know what to do:
