Welkin - nieuw album nu verkrijgbaar!

Well, here it is. The long awaited new album of Welkin called Traces.
Welkin decided to release this new album completely on their own. Independent of any label or such. We answer to no one.

This new album is the result of many years of evolving, growing and pushing our ideas to the limit. The path we chose all those years back, the idea of what Welkin is and the ever continuing wave of influences made 'Traces' into the modern death metal mayhem you hear on this work.
Bands as Meshuggah, Gojira, Cannibal Corpse, Bolt Thrower, Ion Dissonance... influenced us, but we made it our own. We listened, learned and expanded.

The album lyrics deal with the personal struggle to survive in this nowaday world, mirrored to the tedious journey of Odysseus. This classic epos is turned into a mirror in which all can recognice themselves. And even if the theme is always there, even if you think you know the story, the personal twists will make you think of your own battle against "the elements and the gods".

"Traces" was recorded by Sven Janssens (TEOAR, ex-Aborted) at the Red Left Hand studio. Mix and mastering was done by Jochem Jacobs (Textures) at the Split Second Sound studio in Amsterdam (NL).


The albumart was done by (as always) Pepijn.

Traces will be released on february 6th, 2010. We celebrate this with an album release party at the Decadance in Gent together with Dedicted and Black Harvest.

Ik lees op het board van deathmetal.be dat ze ermee kappen. Nog geen redenen. Zuur dit, voor mij 1 van de beste belgische (death) metal bands.

En jammer inderdaad, ik vind Traces een behoorlijk goed album, geen standaard meuk iig.
