CD BESPREKING 'SCENT OF A DREAM' AARDSCHOK

Deze in eigen beheer opgenomen MCD van de Wervikse band Thurisaz bewijst dat ze daar in West-Vlaanderen meer kunnen dan alleen maar tabak telen. Liefhebbers van bombastische, atmosferische black/death metalkunnen hun hart ophalen aan deze uitstekende schijf die me bij tijd en wijle doet denken aan die andere Belgische underground-topper; Oceans of Sadness. Het epische karakter en de lange speelduur van de nummers geven de luisteraars ruimschoots de kans om van alle facetten van de groep te genieten, luister bijvoorbeeld naar het prachtige "Years of Silence" waar de vocalen erg rustig opgebouwd worden en magistraal ondersteund door zowel de gitaren als de toetsen. Op "When Images Are Fading" laat de band, net als op de eerste twee songs, opnieuw alle duivels los met vocale grunts, maar het zijn toch weer die toetsen die voor een unieke sfeer zorgen. Het afsluitende "Endless..." ,met 'normale vocalen', zal niet alleen blackmetal-fans aanspreken en volgens mij ligt daar een grote kracht van deze band; de diversiteit. 'Scent Of A Dream' werd over een periode van acht maanden ingeblikt in de CCR studio's en dat is te horen ook. Man, wat een klank weet deze band tevoorschijn te toveren! Het kan slechts een kwestie van tijd zijn voordat deze jongens opgepikt worden door een platenfirma.

Two weeks left before we enter the CCR studio to record our thirth full-album! With the help of the soundengineers Kris and Nik we'll start recording on february 15th. Normally all should be recorded @ the end of March 2010! Soon there will be more news about the cover, title and releasedate!

NEW SONG 'UNHEALED' ONLINE!!!

After three years of hard working, nagging, good times and bad times, ... THURISAZ are very proud to introduce you to their new song on myspace.com/thurisazmusic! The song is called 'Unhealed' and will be the first song on The Cimmerian Years. We think it pretty sums up what to expect of the new album. Throughout the years we have evolved a lot as a band, but we always try to stick to the core of THURISAZ: making music that is not especially difficult nor technical but tries to reach people to the depths of their hearts. Guestvocals are done by the wonderful Els Blieck (Inis Cathaigh), needless to say that we are very thrilled about the result. Mixing was once again done by Kris of CCR, who (once again) did an outstanding job! Enjoy the song and hopefully see you soon!!!

An album-teaser will be posted once mixing is done!

Hey dear friends !!

First of all, we're glad to say, that after more than a year being in and out of the studio, the recording, mixing and mastering of the new album ' The Cimmerian Years' finally came to an end. Last sunday we officially spent our last minutes in the CCR-studio, adjusting and adding the last samples!

Second of all, we're proud to announce that we signed a deal with SLEASZY RIDER RECORDS from Greece (Ancient, The Elysian Fields, Prejudice...)! They will release our third album 'The Cimmerian Years', which will be available in May 2011!

So... What to expect? One could say it's gonna be a known mixture of styles, yet so very different... It's gonna be the known combination of different vocals, yet so very different... It's gonna be the known soundscapes of bombast and melody, yet again so very different... Let's just say, it will sound familiar and it won't...

We've uploaded a video, with live footage, from the first two songs that will be on the album: 'Broken' & 'My Precious Unknown'. It gives you an idea of what to expect from 'The Cimmerian Years'. A big thanx to our soundengineer Nik for this one! Enjoy!!

Wij kunnen met trots mededelen dat we als Belgische band THURISAZ op 18
februari een optreden geven in INDIA. Dit voor de eerste keer en hopelijk
niet de laatste! Dit als hoofdact op BITS Pilani Campus voor het
festival Pearl-2012 in Hyderabad. Vorig jaar stond Dark Tranquillity daar als hoofdact.
Dit jaar is het onze beurt! Dit allemaal door Unseen Underground.

Zie nu dit topic.....rete-goeie band, maar ik ben nog geen cd'tje tegengekomen...gaat nog wel lukken (en anders online natuurlijk). Ik kwam wel Turisaz tegen, maar dat is toch echt een andere band.

En ik bezocht net de site....alle 3 de cd's voor 25 euro.....tja, dan wordt het bestellen, goeie deal. Heerlijke metal uit Belgie hoor.
