At the gates will do a limited run of select shows in 2011.
Simply put, we had the time of our lives during the 2008 reunion
and have decided to do a couple of more shows.
Although we won't be touring extensively, and we stick to the initial promise of
not making anymore music. Please check our homepage and myspace for updates.
/At The Gates - december 2010
2011 Shows (will be updated):
June 17, 2011 - Metal Town, Gothenburg, Sweden
July 22, 2011 - Tuska Open Air Festival, Helsinki, Finland
"True knowledge exists in knowing that you know nothing" - Socrates
"Better to be a man of great worth than to have possessions of great worth" - Pausanias of Sparta

Als geheel overtuigt At War With Reality echter wel.

AT THE GATES Statement - March 8, 2017
So, it is now official that Anders Björler is no longer a part of At The Gates. He will always be part of the At The Gates family, of course, but he will no longer write, record or play with us live.
This is something that we, the rest of the band, have felt was on its way for quite some time, as that special spark was no longer with him the last year.
We are grateful for all we have experienced together with him, all the records, all the songs, all the gigs, all the laughs and good times.
The rest of us have in the meantime started the work on the follow up to At War With Reality, we already have three songs written, and the direction is set for an intense, hungry follow-up album.
Jonas has always written a considerable part of the bands' material and we are fully confident that the new material will live up to the standards set by our previous records. It is ripping.
The four of us still has the burning urge to create death metal together, and we love playing live in front of our fans, so we will go on, with an even stronger intent.
While writing the new record, that we intend to record in the beginning of 2018, we are trying out Anders' replacement. Some auditions are being held as we speak, and we will get back to you with news on the matter as soon as we know more.

Below are some comments from Anders:
"Just a quick note to let everybody know that I am leaving At The Gates permanently.
The passion is just gone. There might be a more lengthy statement in the future, but at the moment I feel no need to explain further.
This is a personal decision, and it has 100% to do with the music side of things.
The reunion in 2008, and the subsequent tours, as well as the comeback album ’AT WAR WITH REALITY’, really helped revisiting our friendship, and it brought us together in a way I will always remember and cherish.
I would also like to thank all the people that supported us throughout the reunion shows as well as the ’AT WAR WITH REALITY’ album.
Thanks a lot!"
Swedish melodic Death Metal pioneers AT THE GATES have just completed the recording process of their upcoming studio album with producer Russ Russell (Napalm Death, The Haunted, Dimmu Borgir, etc.) at Parlour Studios in the UK. The album will be entitled “To Drink From The Night Itself” and it follows up 2014’s acclaimed comeback release “At War With Reality”. The worldwide release date will be May 18th, 2018 via Century Media Records.
The band has checked in with the following comment:
"We have wrapped up the recordings of the new record, and we are super psyched! It has been a smooth process, and very creatively fullfilling. All people that we have worked with on this project have stepped up to our vision of the final product, and we are very excited about the result.
As you might have seen, we have worked with Russ Russel on this one, and he is really a master of getting the most intense takes out of us, and also has an ear for the rawness that we were after for this one. The vocals were recorded with Per Stålberg here in Gothenburg, and he always makes me deliver to a 100%. Right now we are getting the mastering done, and every new song that is bounced to us produces huge grins on our faces. This album sounds hungry and mean.
The title of our new record will be "To Drink From The Night Itself", and it is, again a conceptual record. More details about the concept will be revealed once the album is more on its way. But it connects with the deep roots of the band, and has connections with some of the themes on "The Red In The Sky Is Ours".
2018, we are ready, let´s do this!" – Tomas Lindberg, Gothenburg, Jan 2018
Jammer.

On the band's official website, Björler declared that "it would be pointless to release something more than ten years after Slaughter of the Soul" and "would just disappoint people."
And so it was.
Ik vond At war with reality heel vet.

Nieuwe nummer klinkt trouwens vertrouwd.

By now everyone knows that Swedish death metal legends At the Gates will release their new LP, To Drink from the Night Itself, on May 18 via Century Media, but first they are joining the Decibel Flexi Series! The band chose to re-record their 1993 classic “Raped by the Light of Christ” for a 25th anniversary rendition released exclusively through Decibel. Of course the only place you can experience it is via the Decibel Flexi Series. So, if you want to complete your At the Gates discography, don’t hesitate, because an extremely limited number of issues containing our 89th installment in the Decibel Flexi Series are available here.

At War with Reality is m.i.
