"Jonatan, the lead singer/violin player has left the band due to personal reasons. He played his final show with NATAN in Hasselt(B), april 18th, 2009.
He was one of the forming bandmembers in 2002 but left the band late 2002. He returned to NATAN in july 2005. In these last four years he was a great force on stage, and his excellent contribution on the legendary debut full-length album 'Het Zicht Van De Dood' won't be forgotten.

NATAN is proud to announce the new lead vocalist, Dennie. Dennie is known as the present bass player of GORATH and was the lead singer in NATAN in the period of october 2003 untill may 2005 already. He was part of the line up who recorded the 'Nevel' EP in 2004. Dennie actually always stayed close to NATAN, helping the band out as a roadie and even doing live session guitars in march and april of 2007 when Daniël was in Sweden for his studies.
Dennie also contributed to the recordings of 'Het Zicht Van De Dood' with guest screams."

We have an announcement to make:
The 9 days tour in september in the UK and Ireland with Burial will be reduced to a 4 days minitour due to organising difficulties.
Because we played several shows in the south of England this year already, the choice was quickly made.
We would have liked to do the 9 days though, but we have no choice.

NATAN has booked the studios to record a new album next summer.

The drum recordings will happen at Rec 'N Roll in Brussels, by Tamás Gresiczki (worked with: Sear Bliss, Epica, Therion, ...) who will also do the mixing and mastering of the album.
The rest of the recordings will take place at De Studio in Asse again, by Dirk Miers. The keyboards will also be done at De Studio, but Jeroen Swinnen (Daan, Novastar, Vive La Fête, ...) will be producing those.

The recordings for our second full-length album are planned for the summer(more info about that in the previous newsflash).

We didn't come to an agreement with Iron Age Records(who released the debut-album) about a second release through Iron Age Records, although our relation with them stays very good.

Genk, september 2nd, 2010

Belgian atmospheric black metal band NATAN parts ways with lead singer Dennie.
Natan states that the parting of Dennie has happened unexpectedly but in an amicable way.
The cooperation with Dennie was fantastic, and the band is very thankful for the time Dennie was a part of the band, it was a pleasure to work with him.
According to Dennie, time for him has come to walk a different road, and Natan respects it fully.
The band wishes Dennie all the luck with his new plans and possible bands and projects as well as with his personal life.

Natan just finished the recording of their new album where Dennie still took care of the lyrics and lead vocals.
More news about a possible replacement will be sent out when everything is cleared out.
The mixing of the new album had still to take place in the following weeks in Budapest by Tamas Gresiczki, and is currently postponed until a defenitive solution is found.

One thing is still certain, and that's that Natan will attack the scene with a new and refreshing album.

Natan zoekt een nieuwe zanger.

Wat we precies zoeken:

De nieuwe zanger moet iets extra toevoegen aan de muziek, en mag buiten de grenzen van “het gewoonlijke” denken.
Natan zoekt meer dan zomaar een Black Metal krijs.
Voorbeelden in welke richting we zoeken: Primordial, Solstafir, Shining (S). Deze bands hebben elk een zanger die creatief durft te zijn.
Het hoeft niet specifiek als één van deze zangers te zijn, we bedoelen maar dat we creativiteit verwachten.

Wat Natan van de nieuwe zanger verwacht:
* Veel toewijding.
* Creativiteit.
* Podium présence.
* De wil om offers te maken voor de band.
* Niet muzikaal té conservatief te zijn.
* Clean kunnen zingen is een plus.

Wat kan men verwachten van Natan:
* Het tweede album is al opgenomen, maar de nieuwe zanger kan de zang opnieuw opnemen(de verdere productie van de CD is stilgelegd), dus er is nog de kans om er als nieuwe zanger een eigen “stempel” op te drukken.
* Als het album uitkomt zullen we hoogst waarschijnlijk weer veel shows spelen in België en Europa + we zijn bezig met een degelijke Europese tour met een goede headliner te regelen voor ergens in 2011.
* Mogelijk ook wat weekend minitours in Europa, zoals we in het verleden al deden.
* We spelen regelmatig interessante shows met internationale bands, in het verleden speelden we met bands zoals Dark Funeral, Eluveitie, Thyrfing, Shining, ...en veel meer.

NATAN has found a new vocalist after Dennie's departure early september.
We found a new singer in Arne Vandenhoeck who already earned his place in the Belgian metalscene. Arne is also active as lead vocalist in the promising Doom Metalband Marche Funèbre.



We have been working with Arne for some time now, and gave him the chance to put his own personality and ideas in our music. We have booked a few days at the Grindhouse studio in Tessenderlo(B) for mid-december to re-record the lead vocals.
After that, the freshly recorded vocals will be sent to Tamas Gresiczki in Budapest(H) for the further production of the album.
In 2004 NATAN already visited the Grindhouse studio to record and mix the EP “Nevel”.

The weekend after the vocal recordings, we will play a live show with the new line-up.
We will headline a small indoor fest in a castle in Traunstein, in the south of Germany between Munich and Salzburg. The bill is a mix between Martial Industrial/Ambient/Neo Folk and Pagan Black Metal.



We really look forward to hit the road with the new line-up, also due to the fact that we didn't play live since february.
Another exciting thing about this show is that we will play 4 songs from the new album, for the very first time.

Zoals gewoonlijk in het Engels wegens te lui om te vertalen:

NATAN has some unpleasant news.
Our bass player Jochen has announced his departure. He will play his last show with NATAN on february 5th, in NATAN's hometown Genk.
We'd like to thank him for the great and funny moments we had with him. He's a cool guy and a good musician.
We wish him luck with his bands Signs Of Darkness and Nidhogg Ivaldir, in both bands he's guitarist.

So we're looking for a new member: bassist or guitarist.
Easiest would be if we find a new bassist of course, but if we would find a suitable guitarist first, Dries(guitars & clean vocals) will switch to bass.

What we expect from a new member:
* A lot of commitment.
* Creativity.
* Stage presence.
* The will to make some sacrifices for the band.
* Not being musically too conservative.
* Possession of own gear.
Experience is a plus, just like own transportation.

What can you expect with Natan:
* The 2nd album has been recorded.
* When the album is released, we'll most likely play a lot of shows in Belgium and across the borders + we're working on a European tour with a decent tour-line-up in 2011.
* Possibly also some weekend minitours in Europe, like we've done some in the past.
* We regularly play shows with interesting international bands, in the past we played with bands such as Dark Funeral, Eluveitie, Thyrfing, Shining, ...and a lot more.
* Working with musicians that gained some experience over the years.

Studio update:
The first 3 days of february, we're in the studio together with Hungarian producer Tamas Gresiczki for the final mixing of the new album. After the final mixing, Tamas will master the album in Budapest, Hungary.
Tamas is currently busy with premixing the album in his homestudio.

Nee. Het is een palindroom, wat ideaal was voor een symetrisch logo.
Jammer dat we toen niet voor een naam met wat inhoud gekozen hadden. Voor de release van onze debuut CD is er binnen de band gesproken geweest om een andere bandnaam te gebruiken, maar de meerderheid van de band vond dat niet nodig.
Toen hebben we besloten zo onder de naam Natan verder te gaan. Het is makkelijk te onthouden, kort, simpel. Dan moet onze muziek maar betekenis geven aan die bandnaam.
