Deafheaven (USA - Deathwish) 
Based out of San Francisco, CA, Deafheaven started as an isolated project between frontman George Clarke and Guitarist Kerry McCoy. After sending the demo to various blogs and receiving overwhelmingly positive reception, the accepeted offers to play live shows and added members to form the quintet that today tours as Deafheaven. On July 29th, 2010, Deafheaven played their first show, marking the unofficial genesis of their rise to bay area prominece. Withing months of forming, they began receiving interest from numerous record labels and officially signed on with Deathwish Records in December 2010.

Their music is described as "A dizzying hybrid of shoegaze shimmer,hardcore punk passion, emo vulnerability and a black metal intensity.

The Secret (ITA - Southern Lord)
From the conclusion of From the Dying Sky, The Secret was born in Trieste, Italy in 2003. Their sound “combines elements of hardcore, noise, metal, and post rock to create a dark, heavy yet dynamic sound topped by the noir and cryptic atmospheres of the lyrics.” The Secret’s music is a “complex and intense stream of consciousness which drives the listener through unexpected soundscapes.” There are “polyrhythmic breakdowns, dark atmospheric passages, and heavy mosh parts . … blended with surgical precision.”

Hele vette show, helaas wel tegelijk met NDF.

Ik ken de bands niet maar ik kom zeker wel even langs.
Het klinkt interessant.

Leuke avond, al viel het muzikaal allemaal wat tegen. Alleen Deafheaven was oké, maar de zang vond ik niet erg lekker bij de rest van de muziek. Jammer ook dat het zo rustig was. Overigens netjes dat we gratis oordopjes aangeboden kregen, want het volume bij de bands zat eigenlijk constant (ver) over de 100 dB.
