Onheil
It is march 2007 when “The New Onheil” arises. Formed by the fusion between “The Old Onheil”, a well known band in the Benelux underground with 1 MCD, and Martyr, a melodic Black Metal band, having released 2 albums on American recordlabels.This new line-up has 3 guitarists and 2 lead vocalist giving them more possibillities to expand their own unique Blackened Metal sound.

The band played on festivals like Party-San, Metal Méan, Zabbadushder Open Air, headlined Gahlen Moscht, Stonehenge, Occultfest and did many indoor shows. They shared the stage with bands like Cannibal Corpse, Watain, Entombed, The Devil's Blood, Mayhem, Vader, God Dethroned and many many more.

Currently, Onheil is preparing new artillery. The band is aiming for the fall in 2013 to unleash the new CD. The Storm Is Coming...

Badlands
Badlands is a Dutch streetpunk outfit formed around singer/songwriter Victor Nefkens. The band started out in 2000 and released 4 full-length albums until now. 2 of the albums were licensed by GMM records and released for the U.S. market. Right from the start Badlands had a huge die hard underground following. Many regard Victor as the most skilled vocalist the streetpunk scene has ever seen and Badlands as one of the most underrated bands in the scene. From 2013 on, Badlands is back after 5 years of radio silence with a new full-length album and an all out live attack all over Europe. Don’t miss out!

Bunch of Bastards
Far from reaching the levels of perfection achieved by the likes of Pogues and Flogging Molly, the Bunch of Bastards like to think they at least drink from the same source for inspiration.
The Bunch of Bastards pay respect to their heroes by playing the odd song written by them. They also pick the odd traditional from the big book of traditional folk songs, not without genuinely spicing things up though.
But foremost, they add their self-penned stuff to the ever expanding number of songs out there that can either be described as energetically melodic or melodically energetic.
Their songs deal with the downsides of life − such as remorse, illness, death, war and the arbitrariness of it all − as well as with life’s upsides − such as the blessings of love, music and alcoholic beverages. Either way, as one of their songs points out, “there is many a good reason to drink many a good pint”!.

Weirde line up, maar misschien wel heen, badlands heerst !

Ja, het is wel een vreemdsoortige line-up inderdaad maar het is dan ook de doelstelling van het festival om unity te creëren onder liefhebbers van oi!, streetpunk, punkrock, black metal, thrash metal, heavy metal, submetal, andere heterclite muziekvormen en folk en aanverwanten.

De prijs is bewust laag zodat ook als je maar één band tof vindt, het nog goed te doen is. Zeker als dat Badlands is, want daar is al sinds 2004 geen optreden van in Nederland geweest. Ik ben daar dit jaar al een keer voor naar Torgau in Duitsland gereisd en dat was iedere reiskilometer waard, dus als ze in Dordrecht spelen zou ik het zeker niet laten schieten als je deze band kan waarderen.

Klopt, er zijn inmiddels alweer twee 7-inches verschenen, waarvan één akoestisch (capital of spirit) en één met band (world of pain). Verder komen binnenkort nog twee volledige albums uit. Eén is een heruitgave van wat ooit onder de naam Soultamer verscheen, het gaat daarbij om de originele opnamen waarbij Victor alle vocalen doet, vandaar dat het onder de naam Badlands verschijnt. Overigens spelen ze daar 22 november (wat toevallig ook de releasedatum is) voor het eerst een nummer van. Vervolgens komt op 30 november alweer een nieuw album uit, dus het zijn goede tijden voor mensen die Badlands gaaf vinden.

Soultamer cd heb ik ook, was tof, maar vond op de een of andere manier de vocalen van Joost
er niet echt bij passen.
Benieuwd naar badlands live, heb alles hier in de kast staan,en das best raar aangezien ik niet zo'n cd koper ben haha.

Ok, ik vond juist die afwisseling van vocalen gaaf op die plaat, maargoed die vocalen staan dus niet meer op de nieuwe versie.

Nee, ik zit dan op Distortion Fest in Eindhoven, al moet ik ook nodig een keer naar dat nieuwe bibelot, want ik ben tot nu toe nog niet verder gekomen dan de bar. Hopelijk wordt het een succes en boeken ze snel weer iets boeiends.

Helaas heeft Badlands op het laatste moment moeten afzeggen, vanwege een keelontsteking bij de zanger/gitarist. Zowel Onheil als Speed Demon spelen een langere set dan aanvankelijk gepland. All Saints Flood vervangt.

Inderdaad ja!

Festerfest was in alle opzichten een geslaagd festival. Bedankt aan iedereen die gekomen is! Ondanks dat de organisatie tegen de nodige obstakels is opgelopen, zijn deze allen overwonnen en terzijde geworpen op weg naar de volmaking met wat begon als een vaag idee en na lang wikken en wegen, onderhandelen, skypen en het bedrijven van andere vormen van communicatie is geworden tot wat het was.

Een interessante constatering die de artistiek directeur bij de evaluatie deed is de volgende:

'What touched me the most about the festival was that all kinds of people were joining the festival, you had metalheads, punks, skins, folkies, heteroclites and even a sporadic gabbermetal addict (hoping Speed Demon would return to its former self). All of these subgenres blended together and for one night they had all turned into what I and most of the members of the staff call 'festerpeople'. What happened can only be described as pure magic and I still feel the purity of bliss when I rethink this night'.

Hij had dit niet beter kunnen verwoorden wat mij betreft. Uiteraard betekent dit dat er volgend jaar wederom een Festerfest zal zijn! De organisatie is al druk bezig met de eerste voorbereidingen en gedachtensprongen. Tot volgend jaar!
