Taking their name from a Northern brew of great strength and gravity, London’s CENTURIONS GHOST has been creating music with a formidable punch since 2001. Musically they are a critic’s worst nightmare being heralded as a Doom, Black and Death metal band. In fact they are a mixture of all of these, constructing songs that have an epic flow and overwhelming heaviosity. In recent reviews CENTURIONS GHOST have been likened to CELTIC FROST, USURPER, VENOM, CANDLEMASS and CATHEDRAL and has been voted 3rd best unsigned band in the Terrorizer end of year poll 2003 and 2004 respectively.
In November 2003 Mikael Marjanen (Guitar) and Martin Wijkström (Drums) started talking about forming a Heavy Rock/Doom-styled band. Guided by heroes such as Sabbath, Pentagram, Zeppelin, Hendrix, Roky Erickson and Jethro Tull, among others, these plans were soon duly realized. Fredrik Evertsson then joined in on bass while Andrei Amartinesei cemented the line up by becoming lead vocalist. All men were now on board the time capsule and without delay the Burning Saviours headed straight back to the time of birth for truly Heavy Rock music.
