On the second edition of the successful Magic Circle Festival 2008 in Bad Arolsen, Germany, MANOWAR will unveil a once in a lifetime special performance on both main days July 11 and July 12. They will perform the entire first six albums of their career.
Also -Germany's own DORO has just confirmed her exclusive German Festival appearance and American Metal Icon Blackie Lawless will bring WASP as a special guest with their one of a kind shock metal show, which will be a performance not to be missed. This is a one and only German festival show exclusively for the Magic Circle Festival.
Furthermore Swiss Hard Rock legends GOTTHARD have just been confirmed and the stage will continue to rock on with the special guest appearance of BRAZEN ABBOT featuring the classic voice of ex- Rainbow and Ex-Deep Purple singer Joe Lynn Turner.
More bands will be announced shortly, but we guarantee that the festival's list of bands will be nothing short of SPECTACULAR!

Fucking Hell, ik had dit soorten namen dus niet zien aankomen. Toch weer interessant, al zie ik weer met de trein gaan niet zo zitten. Fucking duur, niks van pendelbussen tussen station en festivalterrein. Als we niet zowel op de heen als de terugweg een lift hadden gekregen waren we uren aan het lopen geweest met alle bagagetroep.

After the incredible success of the first-ever Magic Circle Festival in 2007, with an attendance of over 25,000 fans, Magic Circle Music (MCM) and MANOWAR are pleased to announce a bigger, better and of course louder Magic Circle Festival in 2008. And this time you’ll be able to participate.
Magic Circle Music and MANOWAR are launching a Battle Of The Bands Contest where bands from around the world will compete against each other to win the once in a lifetime chance to play on the main stage at the Magic Circle Festival 2008. The winning band will be invited to play 3 songs on the main stage on Saturday, July 12th , 2008. That is not all. The winning band will also be featured on the Magic Circle Festival Volume 2 DVD and will have their single released by Magic Circle Music.
There is no entry fee required.
How to Enter the Battle Of The Bands (BOTB)
You have two possibilities to enter the BOTB Contest
• YouTube Entry - upload your video to YouTube.com and let fans vote for your band.
• Regular Mail entry - Mail your demo to Magic Circle Music

Post a video response to the BOTB Promotional Video on www.YouTube.com between March 23rd and March 29th , 2008. All entries will be listed on www.magiccirclefestival.com shortly after. All fans will be allowed to vote for their favorite video. The top 10 most voted bands will be invited to play on the BOTB Stage on Wednesday, July 9th , 2008 at the Magic Circle Festival 2008.
The video must be a live performance or a music video of your band performing an original song. No covers are permitted. All content in your submission must be the band’s (entrant’s) original creation, executed solely by the entrant. The entry must not be subject to the rights of any third parties, must be an original work of authorship, and must not violate, misappropriate or infringe any copyright, trademark or other proprietary right of any other person or entity. The content may not be offensive or otherwise unsuitable for use. Eligibility

Contest is open only to all natural persons worldwide. Contest may only be entered from and in eligible jurisdictions. Entrants must be 18 years of age or 16 with a parental consent letter in order to participate. Employees, officers, directors, and agents of MCM, affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising, promotion, and fulfillment agencies, their immediate family members and persons living in their same household, are not eligible to participate in the Contest.
The Contest
The selected bands from both the YouTube and regular mail entries must confirm their travel arrangements by May 24th , 2008.
If a band fails to confirm their travel arrangements a runner up band will be selected for the performance.
Semi-Finals
The first semi-finals are to take place on Wednesday, July 9th, 2008, where the 10 selected bands from YouTube will play on the BOTB stage. The bands must play 3 original songs. 3 semi-finalists hereof will be chosen to play at the finals. The selection of the 3 winning bands will be based on the amount of applause (noise!) made by the audience. This will be judged by the reigning "Mr. Metal" Udo Sapper.
The second semi-finals are to take place on Thursday, July 10th, 2008, where the 10 selected bands from Magic Circle Music will play on the BOTB stage. The bands must play 3 original songs. 3 semi-finalists hereof will be chosen to play at the finals. The selection of the 3 winning bands will be based on the amount of applause (noise!) made by the audience. This will be judged by the reigning "Mr. Metal" Udo Sapper.
Finals
The finals will take place on Friday, July 11th , 2008, after the show on the main stage is over. The 6 winning semi-finalists will compete against each other. The bands will play 3 original songs. The selection of the winning band will be based on the amount of applause (noise!) made by the audience.
Mr. Metal will once again judge the amount of audience applause to determine the winning band of the Battle Of The Bands 2008.
The winning band will be invited to play 3 songs on the main stage on Saturday, July 12th , 2008. They will also be featured on the Magic Circle Festival Volume 2 DVD and will have their single released by Magic Circle Music.
Requirements of the Winning Band
Each entrant agrees that if the band is announced by Magic Circle Music as the winning band, they will sign any additional license or release that MCM may require such as return releases of liability, declarations of eligibility, and where lawful, publicity consent agreements. Winner agrees to the use of his or her name, voice and/or likeness, and musical submission (including, but not limited to, the right to use, modify, reproduce, publish, perform, display, distribute, make derivative works of and otherwise commercially or non-commercially exploit the musical submission specifically in connection with the Contest in perpetuity and throughout the universe, in any manner or medium now existing or hereafter developed), for the purpose of advertising, trade, or promotion without further compensation, unless prohibited by law. If a selected winner fails to sign the completed and executed releases/agreements as required, the winner status may be forfeited and an alternate winner may, at MCM’s discretion, be selected.
Miscellaneous
• No entry fee is required.
• Bands must be unsigned.
• Minimum age for all band members is 18, or 16 with parental consent letter.
• Bands are responsible for their own transportation, lodging, food and security of their instruments.
• Backline and a full drum kit will be provided. Bands must bring their own instruments (incl. drumsticks).
• No stage props or fireworks are allowed.
• No sound check for competing bands.
• Bands will have 10 minutes for changeover.
• Bands are solely responsible for damaged equipment and agree to pay for its repair or replacement.
• No Guest List is available for participating bands.
Final Clause
By entering the Battle Of The Bands, you agree to comply with all entry procedures and conditions mentioned herein. Noncompliance hereof will result in disqualification.

Trash Comedian Konrad Stöckel Wreaks Havoc On Magic Circle Festival
The latest attraction for this year's Magic Circle Festival in Bad Arolsen has been announced: Konrad Stöckel, the famous German "trash" comedian and chaos magician will be performing at the Magic Circle Festival between artists' sets and will wreak some comedy havoc upon the fans with his numerous arts of conjuring and spectacular showmanship.
Konrad became known through his countless TV appearances in shows such as Nightwash, Comedy Hot Shot, NDR Talkshow, the Quatsch Comedy Club and many more. His "firecracker up the ass" routine became a recent TV hit and his "nail-in-nose" effect and the eating of lightbulbs and stones are classic tricks.
For the Magic Circle Festival, Konrad intends to bring a new performance that no German stage has seen before. "I am totally amazed to be able to perform at the Magic Circle Festival. Finally, my act won't be censored like it is on TV. There will be bloodshed! I have been preparing for weeks already and it's a great honor for me to perform on the same stage as MANOWAR."
The second annual Magic Circle Festival – hosted by the Hessian town of Bad Arolsen - features the best line up of the festival season. Headlined by two spectacular performances by the Kings of Metal, MANOWAR (11th and 12th of July), the festival will also feature legends like Whitesnake, Def Leppard, Gotthard, Doro, WASP, Michael Schenker Group, Brazen Abbot (feat. Joe Lynn Turner) and HolyHell.
Thursday night (July 10th) will be highlighted by performances by Ted Nugent and shock rocker Alice Cooper.

Bad Arolsen. Könige und Königinnen tragen sich nacheinander im Goldenen Buch der Stadt Bad Arolsen ein. Jetzt war es der King of Metal, Joey deMaio - am 3. Juli wird es die Königin der Niederlande sein.
Der Bassist von Manowar hält sich noch vor dem zweiten Magic Circle Festival für drei Wochen in Bad Arolsen auf und nutzte die Gelegenheit, sich in das Goldene Buch einzutragen. "Für eine großartige Stadt und super Menschen. Danke für die außergewöhnliche Unterstützung," lauteten seine Worte, mit denen er sich als King of Metal auf der Seite verewigte.
Weitere Beiträge lieferten John Pettigrass und der Video Director Neil Johnson, die sich ebenfalls für die tolle Unterstützung der Region bei der Organisation und Durchführung des Festivals bedankten.
Bürgermeister Jürgen van der Horst erkundigte sich nach Problemen in der Vorbereitung oder Abwicklung, die es noch zu beseitigen gelte, aber die Intensivphase der Vorbereitung gehe laut Organisator Rainer Hensel erst am 30. Juni los.
Bisher seien schon 11000 Tickets für das Festival, das vom 9. bis 12. Juli im Bioenergiepark Nordwaldeck in Bad Arolsen stattfinden wird, verkauft worden.
DeMaio kündigte an, dass ein Musik Magazin daran interessiert sei, eine etwas andere Story über einerseits das Festival, aber auch das Leben in Bad Arolsen zu bringen.
Ob ein Treffen zwischen King und Königin für ein außergewöhnliches Foto zustande kommen wird, muss noch geklärt werden. Van der Horst wiegelte eher ab, da der Besuch schließlich ein Privatbesuch sei, aber deMaio garantierte Königin Beatrix VIP-Karten im Falle des Zustandeskommens. Seine Plattenfirma sei auf die Idee gekommen als sie den Bassisten mit der langen schwarzen Mähne auf einem Zeitungsfoto mit dem Fürstenpaar gesehen hat.
Wilhelm Müller vom Gäste- und Gesundheitszentrum orderte bereits neue Plakate, die genauso begehrt seien wie die Tickets. Nichts mehr zu machen sei bei der Zimmersuche in der Region, da wären für die Zeit alle Zimmer ausgebucht.
Absagen musste van der Horst, ein Grußwort von der Bühne an die Fans zu sprechen, da er zu der Zeit im Urlaub weile

Geluid en licht was niet al te best van wat ik ervan heb gelezen en Rhino speelt nog steeds drum ipv Scott. Vaag allemaal ga het aankomend weekend wel zien als ze die 6 albums gaan spelen. Dit was een soort van generale ofzo. Gaan er nog meer van het forum hier ??
